it wasn't "some reason", it was 2D animators being unionized and 3D not being unionized. and the simple truth that capitalism kills art.
I remember when 2D faded out, the reason studios kept giving was "it's because 2D is a lot more expensive to produce". I was a child back then so I didn't think too much about it, assuming it was about the process itself, but as I grew up and learned more about art as an artist, and gained friends who were professional 3D artists themselves, I started to question it. Because 3D is very different from 2D, but it's definitely not easier or faster to make. Also, both European and Asian studios kept producing 2D animated movies
The answer was unions. The answer wasn't "this kind of art is cheaper because it's easier to make", it was "this kind of art is cheaper because these artists can't force us to pay them correctly"
dismantle patriarchal body expectations cool cool but when is that and is it before every trans woman with rapidly growing facial hair has to go to a job interview or a school or a street at 12 AM
Electrolysis for permanent hair removal is a required procedure for "MTF" bottom surgery. After a consult with a surgeon, you are often required to have 80% of the genital area completely and permanently free of hair before the hospitals even start scheduling you for surgery. Before the consult, you are not permitted to bill this electrolysis to your insurance, as you will not have the surgical letter dictating its medical necessity. Many health insurance companies routinely deny reimbursement claims or coverage for electrolysis sessions, even with this letter.
Electrolysis is the more painful and expensive hair removal method, but unfortunately it is the only hair removal method that results in permanent removal of every single hair forever. Hair growing in the neovagina is uncomfortable and difficult to remove post-surgery.
Anyone who looks at this and wants to make the process more difficult should just die instead
It’s indigenous peoples day……Naha’pipi it’s Me
I’m Kihnindewa, african american & native (yésan/saponi), and most of y’all know we are Poor & can only work part time due to disabilities. I have 2 asks this holiday for anyone looking to support some individual natives in observance:
1) I made a short wishlist and honestly the most important thing on it is a jacket for work! I wear scrubs so it has to be kinda specific. I have fibro with raynaud’s episodes and I’m starting to get very cold in the office but I wear the same pair of pants & 2 shirts every day bc I can’t afford more uniform clothes rn so I def can’t get a jacket
2) It would also mean a lot to me to check out my writing! I haven’t updated much since I quit patreon but I was posting some poetry to @kihnindewa and I wrote this article about the term “bipoc” & afro-native issues :•) I’m currently planning a substack where I’ll focus on helping ppl learn about afroindigeneity & related racial/colonial issues, so if u like my article (or other posts on these subjects) keep an eye out for that!
I feel bad that the jacket is like $30 (rather get a decent one that’ll last & actually work ykwim?) SO while I would also feel bad to take donations rn, small ones would be appreciated too! If you consider sending anymore than $5, I honestly recommend donating the rest to someone else in need rn. I’m heartemojie on cashapp + venmo, and 13thead on paypal 🫶🏽 pila’huk (thank u)
Hello 🫶🏽 !!! I’ve gotten the jacket, comforter set, & rug (thank you SO much y’all!! I’ve received the first 2 and they’ve already made such a difference for my everyday quality of life) !
I added some thick socks & hair ties (which I’ll share with my little siblings) to the wishlist if anyone wants to help out with those :•)
I wanted to highlight examples of actions I've seen people organize to protest the genocide happening in Palestine.

L3Harris is one of the largest weapons contractors in the world, and they profit from war, the prison industry, and the violent occupation of Palestine..” End ID]
[ID: A tweet by Rebecca Pierce @aptly_engineerd that reads “Happening now: Jewish emergency protest blockading the San Francisco Federal building in solidarity with Gaza and calling for a ceasefire and end to US complicity in the occupation of Palestinians.” End ID]

Over two-thousand Jews protested in front of the offices and homes of elected officials in NYC, San Francisco, Chicago, Seattle, Indiana, Florida, and Los Angeles to demand action to prevent the genocide of Palestinians..” End ID]
Last thing I wanted to highlight was this message from Palestinian-American Author Nadia Shammas. You can read the full thread on twitter.
[ID: A tweet by Nadia Shammas @Nadia_Shammas_ that reads “I want to hear non-Palestinians to hold the same faith in their heart as we do that Palestine will be liberated. I dream of a world where, when it’s too painful to keep faith, I can rest knowing they’ll believe it just as hard for me, that they’ll carry it for me just as firm"]
Some very humbling information here that I have not actually heretofore seen.
